Re: The Ice Breaker thread - Introduce yourself to the forum
1. Where do you currently live?
NYS
2. What martial arts do you practice?
Police/Military Sanda, Hebei Style Xingyiquan (What can I say I like Chinese Military MA styles old and new)
3. If you do train martial arts, what gym do you attend (team, affiliation)?
No Specific Gym or team affiliation, I have a Sanda sifu and a Xingyiquan Sifu. Was associated with a Wing Chun School briefly but Wing Chun is just not my style I guess.
4. Besides the martial art you currently train, what other martial art would you like to practice?
Might give MMA a try if I have time, but right now I don’t. Also Bajiquan, again if I had time and in the case of Baji if I found a real teacher that would actually teach me I would make the time.
5. Who are your favorite fighters and why?
Cung Le, I just liked watching his sanshou fights and I have been pretty impressed by his showing in MMA so far too.
6. How did you get in to the martial arts?
A friend of mine was taking Jujitsu and I went to class with him. That was a very long time ago, were talking enter the dragon was a new movie then. After that TKD then Changquan then Baguazhang and various Taijiquan styles and now Sanda and Xingyiquan
7. What are your other hobbies besides martial arts?
There are other hobbies!!! I also train Taijiquan but it is old school with the MA intact but I would not jump in a Sanshou ring and try and use it. Also I just started Yoga, getting old and stiff so I needed to do something.
8. What would you like to see on the forum or website?
Don’t know I haven’t been here long enough
9. Write a statement or sentence that best describes you or the way you live your life
I like to live day to day actually, enjoy my family, train my MA and hate my job just like a lot of other people do.
